Preschool Programs for 4-Year Olds in Calgary
Early Discoveries Nursery School, Calgary, strives to explore different avenues of learning. Children are stimulated to express their thoughts and feelings while all avenues to learning are explored. Each child is encouraged to feel good about themselves and their own abilities. Kindly note that in order to join the 4-year-old program, your child must turn 4 by December 31st of the current school year. Books, music and other learning materials are a part of this program as children will be encouraged to develop listening skills through our listening centre. Please note that in order to start preschool in September, your child must turn 4 years old by December 31st of the school year.
More About the M.A.D Program
Music
Music is an important key to learning by boosting memory and increasing vocabulary. Basic instrument exploration helps the children learn simple concepts such as rhythm, beat, and dynamics. We will sing songs with our activities and make up new ones by playing with rhymes.
Art
Art is a wonderful way for children to express how they see the world and to showcase their individuality. We will learn colour theory, shapes, sculpture, and multimedia work. Everything from chalk pastels to oil paint sticks to feather and Styrofoam sculpture are explored.
Drama
Drama is about making you believe. We could take an ocean adventure with a pirate ship or a mountain climb to play with the mountain sheep or even join a circus and train the lions. Children gain confidence when they act out different scenarios.
